Re:amaze integration for Dimension Labs

This brings in each Re:amaze conversation as one conversation: the customer's messages and your staff's replies, across email, chat, social, SMS, WhatsApp and the other channels a brand connects. You run it on your side: a small script pulls from the Re:amaze API and posts each message to the universal API.

[01] What comes acrossFrom Re:amaze into one format

Every Re:amaze message, in the same shape as everything else.

Each record lands in the Dimension Labs conversation format, so Dimensions, reports and the agent work the same way as for every other source.

Re:amazeDimension Labs
message body text

Skip messages where visibility is 1 (internal note) or 2 (collision detected message). Keep 0 (regular).

conversation slug userId

Messages identify the sender only by name and email, so use the sessionId.

the filter you asked for incoming

true for messages from filter=customer, false for messages from filter=staff.

conversation slug sessionId

Prefix it with the brand, for example reamaze-yourbrand-knock-knock.

conversation slug conversationId

Same value as sessionId.

message created_at dimensionlabs_timestamp

Convert with toMillis. Re:amaze times carry a time zone offset. Messages with the same time in one conversation get 1,000 ms added each.

message origin; conversation category.slug, category.channel platformJson

origin says where the message came from, for example 1 for email and 9 for SMS.

[02] How to connect Re:amazeUniversal API

5 steps. Then it runs on its own.

A small job on your side reads Re:amaze through its API and posts each message to the Dimension Labs universal API. The guide gives the steps, the field mapping and the code. Run the job once for history, then every 15 minutes. A live source is enriched automatically every day; history is enriched with a backfill.

Rate limits, per Re:amaze: a set number of requests per minute per API token, which Re:amaze doesn't publish. Going over returns 429 (API introduction).

What you need

  • A Re:amaze user whose API token you can use. Every user has their own token, and the API acts as that user.
  • The login email of that user, and the host of each brand you want to bring in, for example yourbrand.reamaze.io. It's on the Brand Settings page.
  • A Dimension Labs API key for a new Universal API source.

[03] What you can ask

Questions teams answer with Re:amaze data.

  • Which ticket themes come before a cancellation?
  • What drives repeat contacts this month?
  • Which issues take the most agent time, by reason?
